# What does it mean to change sync frequency

When you connect Curiosity with an app or folder, it automatically synchronizes the data on a regular basis. Synchronization involves getting new/changed data from the source and indexing it for search.

You can control how often the app synchroizes with your sources:

  • Reducing sync speed limits the amount of data being downloaded
  • Increasing sync speed means your data sources are more up-to-date

# How to change sync frequency

To change sync frequency for an app:

  1. In the left bar, hover over Apps and click the cog (⚙️) icon Manage
  2. In the list of apps, find the app you want to adjust and click on Configure
  3. In the top of the popup window, select a sync frequency from the dropdown list
  4. Click Close

Note only cloud apps show sync speed (doesn't make sense for other apps).
